Current climate change is causing glaciers to melt and sea levels to rise. Depending on the amount of emissions produced, rising sea levels will cost Indonesia around 3.3 to 10.34 billion US dollars per year due to flooding, land loss, salinity of agricultural land, and migration of people from affected areas. The loss of the beach area will also add to the decline in income from tourism. Indonesia is a country that has the most assets that will be exposed to rising sea levels; even with moderate sea level rise, Jakarta will lose assets worth 321 billion US dollars
as a result of being hit by a flood in 2070.
