Climate change has caused an increase in air temperature which causes changes in rain patterns, sea level rise, and extreme weather events that have an impact on the agricultural sector. Changes in rainfall patterns and extreme climatic events affect planting time, planting methods, yield losses due to crop damage by floods, droughts, plant pest explosions (OPT), and overall production declines. Furthermore, sea level rise causes sea water intrusion and tidal waves which have an impact on flooding and increase the salinity of agricultural land located in coastal areas. Therefore, overall, the impact of climate change will reduce agricultural productivity.
